Last night the power went out in our neighborhood here in Berkeley. I was lying on the couch watching some tv when it did. The tv cut out, along with the lights and I thought to myself, "Shit. Circuit breaker must have blown!" Then I noticed that the street lights were also out.Boring story right?

Here's the funny part. I live in Berkeley and right now it's Finals week. In other words, people are studying and writing final papers.

Right after the power cut out. I hear a gut wrenching "AAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!" Coming from down the block. It was followed by someone else along the block... "OOOHHH MMMYYYY GOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!" I can only guess these poor kids were either studying or writing papers. The first two cries of anger were followed by a chorus of screams from others around the block. I'd guess maybe ten people or so in all. And these were just the people within earshot.

I sat there in the dark on the couch and giggled to myself. Closed my eyes and listened to the anguished screams of cal students. HAHA! 0.25 seconds from civilized learning to complete and total ANARCHY. HAHA!! "Quick grab a chair! Throw it through a window and let's get looting!!"
