Well in response to his question, "Why are all chinese people in the city rude and complete assholes? why jon, why?" We must look deeper at the subtleties of Chinese-in-America Culture. When you take this approach examining the modernity of man in globalization of the politics of identity in post colonial times... you realize that ALL chinese people are assholes Shyam...

It's just what we do.

Like every good Oregonian knows, when you have been wronged in any way, the best thing to do is to complain to the government about it. If you've been wronged by a company that is a member of a larger chain, writing the corporate offices a scathing letter also works very well.

In this case our friend Emily went in for a job interview last friday with a Redwood City medical devices comapany and was told that 1) she was too young and hence hotheaded to handle a consulting position, and 2) she is asian and thus was only good at studying and not good with interpersonal skills.

First things first... 2) is absolutely true.. you see us asians are really good at math... but not much else.. well doing dry cleaning, I guess. However true this statement may be... they're not allowed to say it.

What this company has violated is Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Age Descrimination in Employment Act.

If this ever happens to you make sure to visit the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission's website. There's some really good information on the site. And make sure to file a complaint here.

Oregonians like to complain... you should too! But most of all... know your rights.. plus if you memorize "Title VII (that's 7 for the non-asians out there) of the Civil Rights Act of 1964" and bust that out in a ultra-polite sort of way, that'll totally fundle them in the grundle!
