September 2007

Ok so after my senior year in highschool I worked for a small record shopped called Ranch Records. It was and probably still is the best job I’ve ever had. I listened to music all day and spent half of my paycheck increasing my vast cd collection. Those were the good days.

I heard from my sister that Ranch was closing and it made me really sad. But actually it was the  competitor record shop down the street, by the name of Boomtown.

Here’s an article about it.

The funny thing is the article made Boomtown sound like an indie rock vinyl shop, when they sold way more mainstream crap than we ever did at Ranch. And they had a way smaller vinyl collection. But I guess the writer wanted to make them sound like another victim of small biz versus big corp. Well it’s still sad to hear Boomtown’s going out of business.

Just so you don’t have to go and look it up on youtube, here’s the music video for “The Heat is On.” Man wasn’t Beverly Hills Cop an amazing movie?

I’m not gonna lie to you. I walked into work this morning with the biggest smile on my face after an incredible weekend where Cal gave the Tennessee Volunteers a sound thumpin’. It was an intensely exciting game with a great hit my Zach Follett resulting in a fumble leading to a Worrell Williams TD. Desean had an AMAZING punt return, that kid is just ridiculous. Cal’s offense just kept on putting up points. AMAZING!

Cal just layed the wood on those bitches after a shitty game last year. It felt really really good. However, the overuse of the word “Redemption” has been really annoying. Just call it what it is, a sound vengeful ass whooping.
